Keep your phone another year

When your contract ends, keep the phone and move to a SIM-only deal instead of upgrading.

A working phone is the greenest phone there is. When the contract ends, keep the handset and switch to a SIM-only plan, which is often cheaper each month. A cracked screen or a tired battery can be fixed: a local repair shop, or a step-by-step guide online, will sort it for far less than a new model. Every extra year you keep it is a whole new handset that never needed making.
