Fewer, better things

Next time something wears out, choose the replacement built to be repaired, or find a good one second-hand.

When something wears out, the cheapest version often means buying it again soon. Look instead for the one with spare parts, a long guarantee or a repair service, and buy it once. If the good version is out of reach new, second-hand is where quality becomes affordable: a well-made coat or pan often costs less used than a cheap new one, and outlasts it. Fewer things, chosen well, are easier to live with.
